What These Actually Are
Drinking straws formed from sugarcane (bagasse) fibre — a lighter-feeling, naturally-coloured straw with a subtle dry, fibrous texture you can feel on the lips. That texture reads firmly as “plant, not plastic”, which is exactly why some bars and juice counters order them over clear PLA.
Sizes
- 6mm — sodas, juice and standard drinks.
- 8mm — smoothies and iced coffee.
- 12mm — boba/shakes where a wider bore is needed.
The Honest Fit
- Stays stiff through a cold or room-temp drink — no soggy collapse mid-service.
- Pairs well with where guests already expect a plant-based feel (juice bars, eco-focused events, cocktails).
- For very hot drinks, fibre holds better than PLA but check the feel — some prefer bamboo or an unlined paper straw there.
Material & End of Life
Made from bagasse, the fibrous residue of sugar milling — renewable, and it degrades in commercial composting per the batch’s certificate (supplied on request).

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the MOQ for this product?
Mixed-container orders are the norm for this line. A trial quantity is possible, but the landed cost per unit climbs sharply on a part-load, so most buyers start with a small mix and then scale into a full container.
Can it be customised or printed?
Yes. Branding on this line goes on the outer packaging or an added sleeve rather than the product itself, and custom print needs artwork plus a tooling check. Send your logo and we will confirm what the mould can hold.
Is it suitable for hot, cold or greasy food?
It depends on the use. For hot, greasy or long-held food we will confirm the temperature and hold-time it is rated for; for cold or dry service it performs comfortably. Always test a sample against your actual menu before a container order.
What certifications apply?
The material is tested to the common compostability standards (for example ASTM D6400 / EN 13432, and OK Compost where applicable). We supply the current certificate for your specific lot on request instead of leaning on a website badge.
